Jordy Zacharia Buckles
Bio
Jordy Buckles works in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), developing studio built sculpture. Jordy finds inspiration in nature, geometry and culture. Jordy has been commissioned to develop artworks in Hong Kong, London England, Nevada United States of America and Canada. Jordy received his Trade Qualification (TQ) in sheet metal fabrication from the BC Institute of Technology in 2008. In 2001 Jordy attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design and in 1998 attended the Liberal Arts courses at Vancouver Island University. Jordy gained his studio technician experience from a number of Canadian artists prior to opening his studio in 2008. Since then Jordy has forged and formed sculpture in steel, aluminum, copper, stainless and bronze. His sculptures display accuracy in curvi-linear design, volume form geometry and line and plain abstractions unique within each technically detailed element. Jordy strives to excel in studio built sculpture and continues to maintain unique and innovative work, developing the intricacies of his work, like building layers on the pattern of life.
