Ergin Inan
Bio
Ergin İnan was born in 1943 in Malatya, graduated from Institute of Applied Fine Arts, Istanbul 1968.
He took lectures from Kral Schlamminger and Helmut Hungerberg. Inan studied under the supervision of Prof. Emilio Vedova at the Summer Academy of Salzburg in 1969.
The artist, winning the Berlin Artists Grant (DAAD) in 1970, worked until 1973 in Munich Fine Art Academy with Prof. Rudi Troger and Prof. Max Zimmerman. In 1985, Inan was appointed as a proffesor at the Painting Department at Marmara University, Fine Arts Faculty, which he was an assistant in. His exhibitions in Galeri November-Berlin in 1979, Gallery Nev-Istanbul in 1988, Kazim Taskent Art Gallery of Yapi Kredi Bank in 1995, Gallery Artist-Istanbul in 2001, Gallery Artist-Berlin in 2008 are some of the many solo shows that he displayed starting from 1968 until today.
He contributed to group shows since 1972 as well as solo exhibitions.
Ankara and Istanbul State Museum of Fine Arts Collections, Berlin Dahlem Museum, Haus der Kunst-Munich, Kunstverein-Frechen, Cleveland Modern Art Museum, Bradford Museum, London British Museum, Belguim Fredrikstad Modern Art Museum Collections can be mentioned among the permanent collections that include some works of the Artist. Ergin Inan’s latest paintings were exhibited at the Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair, 2008 in collaboration with Casa Dell’Arte.
