Mehmet Gun
Bio
Mehmet Gün was born in Ankara in 1956. He worked with Prof. Anton Lehmden in Fine Arts Academy of Vienna between 1976-1981. In 1982, he moved to the studio of Hausner and received his diploma. He was granted with the Gold Figure Award of Fine Arts Academy of Vienna in 1978. His artworks is based on spontaneous and conceptual approach, in which the stains, tricking elements and calligraphic items are interpreted within the framework of visual and abstractive integrity on linen and canvas. His paintings are held by many museums including Solomon Guggenheim Museum, United Nations Center in Vienna, İstanbul Modern Museum as well as in many important local and foreign collections. He passed away in Berlin in 2014.
